Sunday, April 28th, 3-5 pm, IMV’s NY22 Candidate Forum, Jewish Community Center, 2310 Oneida Street, Utica. We’re going to have 25-minute individual interviews with each of the three Democratic Candidates for Congress in NY22. This is a chance for each one of us to hear directly from them, and decide who we will volunteer for in the following two months before the June 25th primary. Registration is required.

Saturday, May 4th, 1:00 pm, Off to the Races! Indivisible’s Annual Rural Summit, (Originally scheduled for 4/20, the date of the event changed). We’re off to the races! Join Indivisible’s Rural Caucus for our annual Rural Summit, where we will hone in on the importance of having hope in red districts and rural America despite the many challenges ahead of us. We will do a deep dive into state-level electoral work that often gets overlooked, focusing on gubernatorial elections, judicial elections, state legislative races, and ballot initiatives. Come and hear from experts in the field on how you can more effectively use Indivisible’s tools and resources to stand in the face of MAGA extremism and harness your own power not just this year but for years to come! New York LTE Workshop on the IRA
Tuesday, May 21st, 12-1 pm, New York LTE Workshop on the IRA, Do you love writing letters to the editor or are willing to give it a try? This new monthly letter to the editor workshop series will feature an expert guest speaker on a topic that is relevant in this year's election cycle in New York. Come learn more about the topic including what language to use and avoid. Then we'll learn about best practices for writing an effective LTE before giving people time to get started. On May 21st, we're learning about the Inflation Reduction Act from Trisha Maharaj from Indivisible's Policy Team. More people need to learn about this tremendous, historic piece of legislation. Julian Sena from Indivisible's Political Team will be talking with us about Neighbor2Neighbor, Indivisible's relational organizing tool to help people talk to 10 friendly neighbors about voting. We will have N2N available statewide to talk to folks about the NY Equal Rights ballot measure! On this call we're going to brainstorm together about how to make this tool and door knocking experience fun for our rural friends. 1199SEIU Medicaid Rally in Syracuse
Friday, March 22nd, 4:00 pm, 1199SEIU Medicaid Rally in Syracuse, 1199SEIU is hosting a rally to advocate for Medicaid funding in the NYS Budget and call on the Governor to stop her proposed cuts to Medicaid funding; this will be a large mobilization of healthcare workers and community allies. We will be marching from our Syracuse office (250 S. Clinton St.) to the front of the State Office Building in Syracuse, NY. Our march will begin at 4pm. We will have a bus departing from the parking lot of the Hannaford Plaza on Mohawk St. in Utica at 3:30pm on March 22nd and it will return to Utica by 7/7:30pm. Sign up here.
