Friday, March 22nd, 4:00 pm, 1199SEIU Medicaid Rally in Syracuse, 1199SEIU is hosting a rally to advocate for Medicaid funding in the NYS Budget and call on the Governor to stop her proposed cuts to Medicaid funding; this will be a large mobilization of healthcare workers and community allies. We will be marching from our Syracuse office (250 S. Clinton St.) to the front of the State Office Building in Syracuse, NY. Our march will begin at 4pm. We will have a bus departing from the parking lot of the Hannaford Plaza on Mohawk St. in Utica at 3:30pm on March 22nd and it will return to Utica by 7/7:30pm. Sign up here.

Brandon Williams and his MAGA Republicans in the House cause the government to shutdown after Sept 30th, Indivisible Mohawk Valley will host a rally on Hill Road at Griffiss in Rome. Our friends, family, and neighbors working at Rome Labs and DFAS will be negatively affected by the shutdown. While Rep. Williams will continue to get a paycheck, that won't be the case for many in our area! Park near Spressos at 160 Brooks Road and walk over to the sidewalk to the east side of Hill Road. Brandon Williams should not crash the economy. No playing games with America’s credit and economy. No cuts to veterans’ services and health care, Medicaid, education, or food for families. There’s plenty of parking, and we will spread out along the grass. There’s a lot of traffic, so be careful and stay away from the road. Part of a nationwide indivisible Week of Action. Friday, Nov. 11, 3:30-4:30pm, the Kirkland Democratic Committee will hold a rally on the Clinton Village Green, for racial & climate justice, women’s reproductive rights, and democracy for Ukraine. This will be our last planned rally/protest on the Green until spring. Note that we will meet 3:30-4:30, half an hour earlier, as it gets dark so early now (sunset will be at 4:42 on Nov. 11).
Please bring signs about issues such as combatting the climate crisis and celebrating the passage of Prop. 1, protecting choice, promoting a fair justice system, support for Ukraine, support for democracy world-wide, etc.
