Saturday, March 29th, 12:00 pm, Trans Rights Rally, Oneida Square Roundabout (near the statue), Utica, IMV joins with our coalition partner, Oneida County Pride Association, for a rally recognizing International Trans Day of Visibility. Bring trans flags and signs that support trans rights (ex: Trans Rights are Human Rights) and inclusion.

Rally in Support of Ukraine
Friday, March 14th, 4:00-5:00 pm, Rally in Support of Ukraine, Clinton Village Green, Sponsored by the Kirkland Democrats. We encourage no more than 25 people to stand along the Village Green, and others to line up on the sidewalk across from the Green on East Park Row (There are public parking lots at both ends of the Village Green). Bring signs or flags in support of Ukraine!

Medicaid Monday Honk-n-Wave Rally
Monday, March 10th, 5-6 pm, Medicaid Monday Honk-n-Wave Rally, Burrstone Road, Utica. We’ll line up along the stretch along Utica University (where there is ample parking). Join IMV and 1199 SEIU to rally in support of Medicaid on Burrstone Road near the intersection with Champlin Ave. Why? Republicans are on the record in supporting $2 trillion in cuts to programs that everyday Americans need to survive so they can give $4.5 trillion in tax breaks to billionaires. Programs that are on the chopping block include Medicaid, which pays for the majority of births, nursing home residents, and healthcare for low income New Yorkers. Our local nursing homes and rural hospitals depend on Medicaid to keep their doors open. If the Republicans in Congress get their way, people will suffer or even die. Sign up to attend HERE.

We all march for different reasons, but we march for the same cause: to defend our rights and our future from the greedy billionaires about to take the reigns of government. We all deserve affordable housing and health care, safe communities, quality education, Social Security, and the ability to plan our families when and how we want.

Utica Reproductive Freedom March & Rally
Sunday, June 23rd, 2:00-3:00 pm, Utica Reproductive Freedom March & Rally to mark the 2-year anniversary of the Dobb’s decision. SIGN UP HERE. We will meet up at Oneida Square in Utica and march a few blocks along Genesee Street to Nurses Candlelight Park. Democratic Congressional Candidate Sarah Klee Hood will be among the speakers at the rally. Following the event we will encourage everyone in attendance to go vote before Early Voting closes at 5pm and/or take a short list of 20-25 doors nearby and ask those Democratic voters to vote. Early voting closes at 5:00 pm, so they could go straight to the polls once they realize what is at stake in the 2024 election.

1199SEIU Medicaid Rally in Syracuse
Friday, March 22nd, 4:00 pm, 1199SEIU Medicaid Rally in Syracuse, 1199SEIU is hosting a rally to advocate for Medicaid funding in the NYS Budget and call on the Governor to stop her proposed cuts to Medicaid funding; this will be a large mobilization of healthcare workers and community allies. We will be marching from our Syracuse office (250 S. Clinton St.) to the front of the State Office Building in Syracuse, NY. Our march will begin at 4pm. We will have a bus departing from the parking lot of the Hannaford Plaza on Mohawk St. in Utica at 3:30pm on March 22nd and it will return to Utica by 7/7:30pm. Sign up here.

Brandon Williams and his MAGA Republicans in the House cause the government to shutdown after Sept 30th, Indivisible Mohawk Valley will host a rally on Hill Road at Griffiss in Rome. Our friends, family, and neighbors working at Rome Labs and DFAS will be negatively affected by the shutdown. While Rep. Williams will continue to get a paycheck, that won't be the case for many in our area! Park near Spressos at 160 Brooks Road and walk over to the sidewalk to the east side of Hill Road. Brandon Williams should not crash the economy. No playing games with America’s credit and economy. No cuts to veterans’ services and health care, Medicaid, education, or food for families. There’s plenty of parking, and we will spread out along the grass. There’s a lot of traffic, so be careful and stay away from the road. Part of a nationwide indivisible Week of Action. Friday, Nov. 11, 3:30-4:30pm, the Kirkland Democratic Committee will hold a rally on the Clinton Village Green, for racial & climate justice, women’s reproductive rights, and democracy for Ukraine. This will be our last planned rally/protest on the Green until spring. Note that we will meet 3:30-4:30, half an hour earlier, as it gets dark so early now (sunset will be at 4:42 on Nov. 11).
Please bring signs about issues such as combatting the climate crisis and celebrating the passage of Prop. 1, protecting choice, promoting a fair justice system, support for Ukraine, support for democracy world-wide, etc.
