Change of Plans: First Good Trouble Town Hall Rally Rescheduled

#NY22 Good Trouble Town Hall Rally Monday in Chittenango, Tuesday in Rome

You have probably heard that Rep. Williams rescheduled his New Hartford Town Hall from Thursday this week to Monday, May 1st. That means that his first Town Hall in NY22 is on Monday, April 10th at 6:30 in Chittenango.  So, NY22 activists are coming from all across the district to Chittenango.  Here is the plan:

Monday, April 10th, 5:45 pm, Good Trouble Town Hall Rally, Chittenango High School, 150 Genesee Street, Chittenango.

Tuesday, April 11th, 5:45 pm, Good Trouble Town Hall Rally, Lyndon Strough Middle School, 801 Laurel St., Rome.

  • PLEASE RSVP to IndivisibleMV@gmail,com to let us know which rally/town hall(s) you are attending.  We will send you a follow up email with more information.

  • Please come early (be there at 5:45 PM!)  to join the rally and/or get good seats for the 6:30 pm town hall.

  • Signs should emphasize protecting Social Security and Medicare. Or join in strategic sign making with Sarah on Friday, April 7th, 2-4 pm at the Kirkland Town Library in Clinton, 55 1/2 College Street, Upstairs Room.  Poster board and art supplies provided.

This is our first big action to educate the public about Rep. Williams and his MAGA extremism.  We need a strong showing and clear messaging.  It's GO TIME!

Transgender Visibility Rally: Media Coverage Strong

Kudos to Ace Morreale and Oneida County Pride Association as well as IMV, Herkimer County Pride Association, and The Other Side for a tremendous showing in terrible weather on Friday for Transgender Visibility Day.  The vibe was positive and inspiring. There were a lot of young people, much visibility, and following the rally, a well facilitated discussion.  The event was covered by the media.  We especially liked this story:  https://uticaphoenix.net/when-they-come-for-one-of-us/

Take Action Call Relays Today for the State Budget

For Budget Justice: A number of the generalist groups put together this call relay for today calling on the state leg leaders hold the line against Hochul's Billionaire Budget and ensure the corporate tax and personal income tax proposals end up in the final budget.   Let's flood the lines with calls tomorrow!
Sign up here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Df47sPJc184EhD2k21w2S9Q0dx9uBaJnj8fCH9SAyxc/edit#gid=0

The budget is going to be at least 10 days late.  That doesn't mean it has to be bad.  Let's make it a budget that invests in New Yorkers and our future.  Thank you for making calls!

Final Reminders

  • Sarah Klee Hood will be at CAFE this Friday.  And bring your creativity to the sign making party in Clinton later Friday afternoon.

  • Make calls to your state legislators and the state leaders and tell them: Prioritize climate, fair pay for home health workers, public education, housing justice, an health care for all!

Democracy is not a spectator sport.
