Utica March for Reproductive Freedom Sunday 2 pm
We Must Stop Trump & the Republicans
They Destroyed Roe v Wade,
Now They're Coming for Birth Control, Mifepristone, & IVF
and They're Promising a National Ban
Utica Reproductive Freedom March & Rally
Sunday, 2-3 pm Oneida Square to Nurses Candlelight Park
June 24th marks two years since the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and federal constitutional protections for abortion. Let's be honest. Dobbs was a huge loss of freedom and rights. And across the country, people have been struggling and suffering as a result. We MUST make sure that the right of every woman to make her own health care decisions--and every doctor to provide a full range of health care services--is top of mind for voters in November. Most voters support reproductive freedom. We want them to know that MAGA Republicans like Brandon Williams want to ELIMINATE that freedom.
On Sunday, June 23rd we are shining a light on Trump and MAGA Rep. Williams and showing the power of the movement fighting back against them to protect our personal freedoms and reproductive rights. We're doing it Utica, where we had hundreds march when we learned Roe was being overturned in 2022. Let's see another huge crowd!
Reproductive Freedom March & Rally in Utica.
Sunday, June 23rd
2-3 pm
Meet at Oneida Square (Genesee & State Street). March to Rally at Nurses Candlelight Park.
We are asking everyone to sign up on the Mobilize link and share that link with all your friends--so that we can communicate with you about the march/rally in case there is any change in plan and in order to get a sense of the attendance numbers. Please sign up then share the link: https://mobilize.us/s/BRbUEP
We will march on Genesee Street from Oneida Square to Nurses Candlelight Park and have a rally. At 3:00 pm we will encourage attendees to participate in early voting before polls close at 5pm and/or take a short walking turf nearby and encourage voters to vote with reproductive freedom at the top of their minds. Please spread the word--especially to young people who are active on social media platforms and can reach a wide audience.
Please bring signs. Here are some ideas:
My body, my choice * Reproductive freedom is under attack * Republicans are coming for our birth control
We won’t go back * Only re-electing Joe Biden can stop a national abortion ban
Rep. Williams supports abortion bans * Stay out of my healthcare decisions, Republicans
No Forced Pregnancy! * Trump is 100% responsible for repealing Roe
Trump & Brandon Williams are coming for birth control & IVF next
Trump & Brandon Williams want to make your healthcare decisions for you

Climate Crisis Action: Two Calls to Reduce Plastics in the Environment
On June 7, the Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act passed the NYS Senate. Hooray!
Now, it needs to pass the Assembly. It did not come up for a vote before the session ended. The good news is that the news media has reported there may be a special session; if that is the case, the bill may come up for a vote then. It has passed the 4 necessary committees and is waiting for a floor vote.
Please call your own Assembly member and Assembly Speaker Heastie to vote YES and pass A5322-d. when the Assembly is in session again.
Here's the phone numbers with scripts.
Note: NEW SIENNA POLL. 82% of NY Voters Say Single-Use Plastic Packaging Is a Problem! And, a bipartisan 67% of voters support the Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act.

Rebuilding the Village Needs Support for Youth Summer Program
Once again, Rebuilding the Village's Patrick L Johnson Community Youth Center is running a summer program, free of charge, for children and youth in Cornhill whose parents could not afford the cost of the various summer programs available here in Utica. This program has been supported by IMV members since the summer of 2020 and we ask you to contribute once again. According to Freddie Hamilton, Rebuilding the Village has some grant money coming later in the year, but currently needs funds to run programs through the summer. If you are able to help, checks may be mailed to:
Rebuilding the Village, Inc.
