The Special Door Knock Edition

Tuesday Canvass Launch with Sen. Mannion

You're invited to join IMV on Tuesday, August 27th to have pizza, knock on doors, and connect with our Democratic Congressional Candidate, John Mannion. This is our first Canvass with Senator Mannion and will be a great way to connect with like-minded volunteers and make a difference in our community. Anyone interested in attending can sign up with the link below.

Canvassing Update from Dylan DePaul, Utica Dem HQ:
"Last week we knocked 444 doors in Oneida County.  Contacting voters at this point in the cycle is crucial and I appreciate the work volunteers have put in to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. Let's keep pushing toward the election and as Coach Walz says “We’ll sleep when we’re dead!”

Canvas Kudos!
Kudos to canvassers who knocked rural doors in the rain (Diane Berry!) and new canvasser, Catherine, who went out with Sarah Reeske. They had a great time sharing slate cards at the doors!

Show up this Tuesday, 5 pm, for the special canvass launch and pair up for a fun and social evening of talking with voters!

Indivisible's Neighbor 2 Neighbor Sweeping the Nation...
And Your Neighborhood

If you are looking for an easy way to get started in your own neighborhood, give Neighbor2 Neighbor a try. Just sign up HERE and Indivisible will send you an email with a simple script, printable materials that you can leave with neighbors, and 10 names and addresses of Democratic households in your own area.  It's an easy way to get started.

We suggest pairing up with a friend if you don't want to go alone, and help them do their 10 addresses, while they accompany you on your list of 10.  These are people you may or may not know (yet!) but who share your geographical location and also Democratic voter registration.

P.S. All of New York state is included in Neighbor2Neighbor because it is so important that we flip (and hold) congressional seats across the state).

Commit to Canvass Labor Day Weekend

We're asking everyone to knock some doors on Labor Day weekend.  Either sign up and show up for a canvass at Dem HQ in Utica, or, if you're in some other part of the state, sign up for Neighbor2neighbor and use the list of 10 addresses provided by Indivisible.

If the weekend really doesn't work for you, then be sure to do your canvassing before you head off for the weekend.  A good option might be Wednesday in New Hartford: https://www.mobilize.us/nysdems/event/668519/

Look Forward to Something Sweet

Please join IMV for our monthly fun event!  Instead of our usual meeting, we're hosting a "Social & Sweet Treats Meet up & Canvass."

IMV Monthly Fun Meet Up
Sunday, Sept. 22 at 2 pm
Cafe Florentine (8647 Clinton St., New Hartford)

Coffee and pastries will be paid for by Indivisible. Then, we'll head out in pairs to canvass voters in the local area. This is a great opportunity to socialize with IMV friends. Bring a friend with you to knock on doors if you want! It's been really energizing to talk to Democrats who loved the DNC and feel renewed hope and energy in its aftermath.  We'll be using our slate cards that work like magic at the doors.

What's your personal "doors" goal to flip this district and give Harris/Walz a blue House to govern?  With a mandate from the voters that we help produce, President Harris can truly protect our freedoms to live, love, learn, vote, and provide for our families!

"DO SOMETHING"

How many conversations have you had since the Democratic National Convention started with people who share your values and were already going to vote for Democrats in this election--people like you, who care about politics and have a voting plan locked down?

Now, how many conversations have you had with people who haven't been thinking about politics at all, who don't know if voting makes a difference, or who have no information or opinion on the candidates running for Congress or the state legislature on the ballot locally?

Canvassing is a way to reach those voters --the ones who really decide elections by showing up or not, by splitting their ticket or not, by voting for Democrats and freedom--or not.  We have the ability, through those conversations at doors, to impact this election.

Let's get out there and make a difference. 71 days to go.  Let's DO SOMETHING!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!
