IMV Sweet Social Event 1:30 pm Sunday

IMV's "Sweet Social Canvass Launch" Sunday:
Canvassers Get Dessert and a Harris Lawn Sign!

Join Indivisible Mohawk Valley for our September 22nd monthly meeting -- at Cafe Florentine (8647 Clinton St. New Hartford). This will be the best canvass launch ever because everyone who canvasses will get free coffee/drink and dessert, so grab a canvassing buddy and come join us.

First time canvassers are welcome! We'll pair you up with an experienced one and teach you how to talk to voters about supporting Harris/Walz and all Democrats on the ballot. We'll be talking to friendly voters.

Come as early as 1:30 to have your choice of desserts. At 2 pm we'll begin our agenda. We'll socialize and do a brief overview of what IMV members have been doing, celebrate everyone's hard work & published LTEs, preview our upcoming actions, thank everyone and then get to canvassing. We'll do a short training for first time canvassers. We'll be knocking on doors in Whitesboro.

Canvassers get a free Kamala Harris lawn sign!

Postcard Parties

Postcards for John Mannion and Paula Collins are getting completed in large numbers thanks to the great turnout at these weekly events. And the frequent postcard stamp donations from many of you are appreciated!  IMV is purchasing some more stamps for the next event as well.

IMV Postcard Parties (Thursdays)
Thursday, September 26
4:00-5:30 pm

New Hartford Library

We expect to hold one final postcard party --perhaps over a weekend in early October --to finish all the postcards. More info to come next week!

Voter Protection: How You Can Help

"My name is Heather Wasielewski, and I serve as the Regional Voter Protection Manager for the New York State Democratic Committee. As a local resident, I’m excited to connect with you as we prepare for one of the most important elections of our time. Together, we share a vital responsibility: to ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast their ballot and that every vote is counted accurately and fairly.

In my role, I collaborate closely with local election officials, coordinate volunteers, and oversee the voting process to address any issues swiftly and efficiently. I cover Oneida, Onondaga, Madison, Broome, and Tompkins counties, and our partnership is crucial in maintaining transparency and integrity at every step of the election process, ensuring a smooth, secure, and fair experience for all voters.

I’m also reaching out to invite dedicated individuals to join our team as volunteers. We have a range of volunteer opportunities available that cater to different schedules and interests:

  • Voter Protection Phone Banker – Remote: Help us reach voters and provide them with important information.

  • Hotline Volunteers – Remote: Assist voters who may encounter issues while casting their ballot.

  • Poll Site Rover – In-Person: Visit polling sites to ensure things are running smoothly and help resolve any issues on Election Day.

  • Poll Observer – In-Person: Monitor polling places to make sure every vote is protected.

By observing polling places, assisting during early voting and on Election Day, and standing ready to resolve any challenges that arise, these volunteers will play a critical role in protecting voter rights and ensuring the democratic process runs smoothly.  Volunteer Sign Up Sheet

Are you ready to make a difference? Join our team and be a vital part of protecting democracy. I’d love to connect with you about how we can ensure every vote counts. Feel free to reach out for more details or a brief chat on how you can get involved."
