IMV 2021 Election Canvassing Kickoff

Based on your responses to our IMV survey about volunteering to support campaigns this year, we have planned our first door-knocking event for Sunday in support of Anthony Brindisi for Supreme Court and Karen Stanislaus for Oneida County Family Court Judge.

Meet in Rome (MVCC campus, back parking lot, 1101 Floyd Avenue) to knock doors 3-5 pm Sunday, Sept. 12. We'll knock doors to support judicial candidates Anthony Brindisi and Karen Stanislaus. Bring a mask, comfy shoes, and a charged cell phone. Bring a friend too! Be a driver, a knocker/Minivan recorder or a talker at the door. There's something for everyone's comfort level!

We can't talk about public policy or political issues when knocking for judicial candidates, but we can talk about these candidates' experience and judicial temperaments. This is the fun kind of canvass, where you talk to Democrats who just need to be reminded how important it is to vote in "off year" elections. It will be a lot of fun!

Please, please sign up here so we and the campaigns can know how many people to expect.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!

Save the Date: IMV Meeting Mon. Sept 20 on Zoom

We'll meet Monday, Sept. 20, 7-8:30 pm on Zoom. We'll need everyone to show up to finish planning the Oct. 2 Utica Women's March for Reproductive Freedom ahead of the supreme court session. We'll also be coordinating many of our election activities including postcards, canvassing, and lit drops.

Please put this Zoom link in your calendar: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83967822307

We should have postcard pick ups around town very soon, and we already have our first assignment: postcards for Caroline Reale's campaign to represent New Hartford on the Oneida County Board of Leg. Please get ready to write, and donate stamps as well.

We're only about seven weeks out from the 2021 election, and as always, so much is at stake. Democracy is NOT a spectator sport.
