People Over Plastic Advocacy Day in Albany

Monday, February 9th, People Over Plastic Advocacy Day in Albany!  Help cut toxic plastic packaging in NY by joining fellow IMV members at this lobby day in Albany to advocate for the legislature passing the Packing Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act. The bill has been passed two years in a row by the Senate and has the votes in the Assembly but needs a push to get it onto the floor. Join us in making that push! Saturday, Jan. 10th, 12:00-1:30 pm, ICE OUT FOR GOOD PROTEST, Along Black River Blvd near the intersection with Erie Blvd. on one side of Fort Stanwix, Rome.  This peaceful weekly demonstration has music and creative signs. This is a non-violent gathering in solidarity with victims of ICE violence and protesting the destruction and death, the trauma and the terror that Trump's secret, masked, armed paramilitary troops are bringing to our communities where we just want to live, work, worship, and learn.  Demand that every elected official take action to get ICE out of our communities.

Rally to Resist ICE Fascism at the Batavia Detention Center

Saturday, Dec. 20th, 1-3 pmRally to Resist ICE Fascism at the Batavia Detention Center (Sharing from CNY Solidarity). This rally is hosted by Bill Schubert of PeoplesActionRochester. He has rallied at this Federal detention center before with no issues. The facility’s security personnel have been friendly and the 70 or so ralliers have been peaceful and well behaved.  This is a peaceful demonstration, and involves travel outside the Mohawk Valley. However, a number of our local neighbors who have been taken by ICE are at the federal detention facility in Batavia.
