GOTV for Celeste Friend: Utica for All
Sign Up to Volunteer for Celeste Friend for Mayor GOTV
Thank you to everyone who has contributed, volunteered with the "Purple Posse," carried petitions, knocked doors, and made calls. We are now in the final days of the campaign and it's time to Get Out the Vote!
Celeste's team was thrilled to end the persuasion period OVER THE TOP! Every door we intended to knock in Utica got knocked! But now we have to keep going and work as hard at ACTIVATION (turnout) as we did at persuasion.
Celeste's team has created a volunteer form with many opportunities today through the 27th. Please sign up for everything you can. This is a challenging primary, and we need every voter who said they'd vote for Celeste to show up at the polls.
Share the form link with your friends, and encourage everyone you know to volunteer. It's fun! This is a big fun campaign committed to building community and energy. It's everybody in and nobody out! Why Celeste? She has a vision for the future of Utica and the political and executive skills to carry out that vision. She will listen, communicate, engage more people in making our city strong, and get the job done.
(Note: If you find more motivation in rage volunteering/voting then just know that her opponent proposed a total ban on bike lanes everywhere in Utica and rallied his allies to pass the bill last week; He'd rather be spiteful than protect public safety, as his bill contradicted all public safety research and recommendations. Seriously, don't let him win--it would be dangerous, and not just for cyclists).
So don't delay. Sign up now to volunteer. There's a role for everyone in the GOTV phase of this primary campaign.
Let's Elect a Candidate Who Shares Our Values
If we're going to show up at all, it's got to be when someone who shares our values--of inclusion, justice, sustainability, and community--is in the final days of a competitive election. We will come together in July for our annual potluck picnic (see calendar) and we'll be meeting congressional candidates at our candidate forum in August. But for the next nine days there is nothing more important politically for us in the Mohawk Valley than helping Celeste's Utica for All campaign cross the finish line so she can be on the Democratic line in November in the general election. Sign up HERE to join the GOTV team.
We'll have a lot more IMV news for you in our regular Friday email later this week. In the meantime: we hope you joined in some of the Juneteenth festivities over the weekend, and have a good holiday today.
