Big Canvass With Sarah Klee Hood Tomorrow!

Canvass for Sarah Klee Hood

Please join IMV members who are canvassing for Sarah Klee Hood tomorrow ahead of the June primary.

Knock doors for Sarah Klee Hood
Saturday, May 18th, 2-4 pm
Meet: New Hartford Shopping Mall (near Nicky Doodles)

Many Democratic voters don't know there is a primary and they don't know the candidates. They will appreciate the information we share!  Plus Sarah Klee Hood will be there to get us started, give us her talking points and turfs in nearby neighborhoods. Show up with a friend or we will connect you with a canvassing partner upon arrival.  First timers welcome!  If you use the Minivan app, please bring your phone.  There will also be an option to use paper walk lists.

Many IMVers left our candidate forum last month very excited about Sarah (AKA SKH).  Some of you came to assemble lawn signs for her this past week.  Now it's time to start talking to voters.  See you Saturday afternoon!

P.S.  Sarah Klee Hood supporters:
Please also mark Monday, May 27th on your calendar.  Walk with Sarah and her campaign team in the New Hartford Memorial Parade at 7 pm. Please line up at 6:15 pm at the New Hartford Shopping Mall.

Help Colt Brumm for Holland Patent School Board

IMV member Colt Brumm is running for school board in Holland Patent.  He needs 450-500 votes to win in the election on Tuesday, May 21st.  In true IMV fashion (voter contact matters!) Colt has knocked on 300 doors already and is getting a good reception. Here are some of the ways that we want to support Colt in the last couple of weeks before the election:

1) Talk to, call, or text friends, co-workers, and family who live in the district about Colt--and remind them to vote!  The district covers the following communities:
Holland Patent, Floyd, Stittville, Prospect, Western, Hinkley, Barneveld, and some of Marcy

2) GOTV Phone Bank for Colt on Monday, May 20th.  This is a virtual phone bank 6-7:30 pm

Let's show Colt our support!

Join the Call Relay Today for the Bottle Bill and the Packaging Reduction Bill!

We had an amazing advocacy day on Tuesday. Good news, both the Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act and the Bigger Better Bottle Bill are in play. Both bills are currently in Assembly Rules, which is a good sign. Our job is to keep the Senate and the Assembly strong and say PASS THESE BILLS!  Many thanks to IMV members Alan Cole, Marlene Bissell and Shirley Knop for attending the Beyond Plastics Lobby Day in Albany on Tuesday!

Help keep up momentum by signing up for a call relay! We know calls matter! Here's how it works:

1. Sign up for a time-slot on Friday, May 17 - include your name, cell #, email address and zip code (this is how the relay part works)

2.. Place your calls at the time slot you signed up for using the script in the spreadsheet or make the call anytime today following the script!!

We Need Volunteers for Summer Events

Once again, IMV plans to table at key events both to register voters and also to talk about the importance of voting and the political activism we do.  We have stickers, tattoos, voter engagement boards, and more.  We just need volunteers to help staffing our table.  If you can volunteer for 2-3 hours, please email IndivisibleMV@gmail.com and let us know when.  Thank you!

Planned Parenthood Event in Clinton June 4th

PPGNY Votes PAC wins competitive elections by appealing to voters who believe in the importance of our mission. State and local races can be determined by only a few hundred votes, and these wins help New York become the national leader this moment requires. Nearly two dozen states across the country have banned or severely restricted abortion access since the Roe v. Wade was overturned. Your support will allow us to continue to cement New York's position as a leading abortion and reproductive health access state.

IMV member Katheryn Doran is hosting a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood of Greater NY Votes PAC in Clinton on Tuesday June 4th, 5:30 -7:00 pm. Please sign up if you can attend, and donate if you can't!   We apologize for the registration link error in the newsletter last Friday.  HERE is the corrected link.  Register now.

Good Week of Action & Learning: Now Time to Knock Doors!

Thanks to all who showed up to phonebank for Colt Brumm and to assemble lawn signs this past week.  Sarah Reeske had a full house of volunteers and lots of pizza on Wednesday!  Thanks to everyone who attended the Persuasion to Power messaging call and the One NYS Indivisible call in the past couple of days. Lots of learning that we can use as we do our electoral action in the coming months!

We are now just one month away from the start of early voting for the NY22 Democratic Primary so it is critical that we start talking to voters--as many as we can every week.  Please make every effort to show up to knock doors for Sarah Klee Hood tomorrow in New Hartford. With only a few weeks of effort, we helped Sarah win Oneida County in 2022.  Now we need to help her win it BIG on June 25th!

Door knocking not for you?  Please phonebank for Colt Brumm on Monday and remember to vote in the school board elections and budget votes in your school district on Tuesday.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.
