Changes to The People Lead Actions

Changes to The People Lead Actions Jan. 13

IMV's peaceful pro-democracy rally and car parade scheduled to begin at noon in New Hartford on Wednesday, Jan. 13th are now cancelled.  Across the country, there have been threats of continued violence from Trump supporters.  There are also some indicators that local Trumpsupporters may be targeting our event for a counter protest.

While our in person actions are cancelled out of an abundance of caution, our virtual political activism for the Day of Action will continue as planned.

On the Phone
9 am -5 pm NEW: Statewide Call Relay.
Sign up here for a 5 minute slot to call Sens. Schumer and Gillibrand. Phone calls work. Our senators need to know that we are behind them when they push for bold democracy reform.  Both senators have multiple offices. Feel free to call them all!

On Zoom
8:00 pm.  Statewide Indivisible NY call with Sen. Schumer.  The meeting will end by 9:00 pm. Register here. Currently there are more than 400 registered for 300 spots on the call with Senator Schumer.  Be sure to show up a few minutes early on the call to get a spot!

Here is the plan for New York state Indivisibles, so you have call links all in one place as well as resources to amplify on social media and in your local newspaper with a letter to the editor. Let's lead on democracy.

It is unfortunate that we had to cancel The People Lead events, which many IMV members spent hours planning.  However, our first priority is the safety of our members and the public.

The People Lead on Democracy.  Let's show them all just how we do it virtually!

Follow us on Twitter using @indivisiblemv and of course our Facebook page and IMV Activism Group.
